Sunday Stories, Audio Versions

I've written before how helpful it is to record your own audio books, and since I wrote that post, I've recorded a whole store of books for my daughter. I've also found, in my own experience, that when my daughter needs me but might not want physical touch, listening to my voice can help create a connection through a book I've recorded for her.  
​Each week, I'll share one Sunday story that I've recorded for her - a bit about the book itself, why I recorded it and how we've used it. You are welcome to use these recordings with your own kids in case you can't record your own.

Quick Literacy Tip: When Speaking of Big Things, Use Small Words

Good books will get you started - to start discussing, to understanding the fabric of our country, to empathize with others.

Books can provide child-centered vocabulary to discuss big, big issues in small, manageable doses. Books provide a shared experienced. Books are a diving board for questions.
